about Kate’s background
Together, we will explore the origins of distressing behaviors or dynamics, examining how feelings of defectiveness, safety, and control influenced their development and maintenance.
I am currently licensed in Maryland, DC, South Carolina, and Florida and have completed basic training for EMDR through the Center for Excellence in EMDR Therapy. I continue to engage in consultation and ongoing education to further refine my EMDR skills and am working toward certification.
In addition to my clinical expertise, I am committed to meeting each client where they are in their journey and helping them navigate the challenges that stand in their way. My goal is to empower clients to understand their unique experiences and find new pathways toward growth, connection, and healing.
I specialize in treating eating disorders and trauma and have extensive experience working with mood disorders, attachment wounds, and challenging relationship dynamics. My approach is rooted in creating a strong, honest, and often humorous therapeutic relationship to help clients feel supported while working toward meaningful change.
I primarily utilize EMDR and its foundational framework, Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) theory, to help clients understand how the past informs the present, reprocess maladaptively stored memories, and create a future more aligned with their goals and values.
